mcaRBFRetargeter
One garment refitted onto every body variant, mathematically. Mean error cut by more than half.
ProblemOne garment, every body
A garment is modelled for one body. Ship four body types and someone refits it four times by hand. The retargeter learns the deformation between two bodies and carries anything across: garments, props, corrective sculpts. Topology doesn't have to match.
FixedThings that were silently wrong
- Couldn't reproduce a plain move: 6.21 units of error where the answer is zero.
- Claimed to be multi-threaded; it had no parallel code at all.
- BlendShape in-betweens dropped: three in, two out, reported as success.
- Labels everyone got wrong became Deform from / Deform to / Meshes to deform.
A confusing label was the symptom of a wrong constraint.
